Memory's thesis keeps getting better as next-generation HBM pricing roughly triples. Per @EhrmantrautCap_, HBM3E sold at $1.50 per Gb, while Samsung is negotiating around $4.50 or more for HBM4 with major customers, before volume even ramps. Memory has been one of the best holds all year, and it is hard not to stay bullish even after the run. x.com
Micron's upcoming report may be the market's most important, because if memory pricing holds into 2027, every memory name follows. Guidance is $50 billion of revenue, an 86% gross margin and $31 EPS, versus $11.3 billion and $3.03 a year ago. Memory is sold out through 2026 on fixed-price contracts, 16 long-term deals lock in a fifth of DRAM and a third of NAND volume, and spot DRAM is up 52% this year. Samsung Electronics' HBM4 pricing looks set to lead the memory Big Three, helping make next year's earnings phenomenal. Samsung memory EVP Jaejune Kim said next year's HBM supply is sold out at target prices, with more customer requests coming. Korean media had reported quotes in the mid-to-high $4/Gb range; Nvidia appears to have accepted Samsung's asking price. Memory prices look to be at their peak for SK hynix and Micron as Chinese commoditization catches up.
