Teradyne's Q2 outlook coming in below its Q1 results is concerning when demand should be sky-high, and if later quarters look the same, its P/E would be too high to justify buying. x.com

Teradyne's selloff on Q2 guidance below Q1 makes no sense, because the margin jump behind the bull case is playing out. The CEO said Q1 results reached a new record high, supporting the view that Teradyne is cheaper than Advantest and has more margin upside, since Advantest's margins have already risen a lot. x.com
Teradyne's growth is slowing, undercutting the AI-test growth valuation that lifted shares 242% in 2025. Q1 revenue nearly doubled to $1.28 billion and EPS of $2.56 beat the $2.04 estimate, but Q2 guidance of $1.15-1.25 billion is nearly 10% lower at the midpoint, and gross margin falls to 58-59% as one-off gains fade. Merchant GPU test revenue is only about $50 million this year against Advantest's entrenched lead, and about 70% AI exposure with concentrated customers magnifies tariff risk. … Show more
Teradyne looks less dominant in CPO testing than expected after it acknowledged Advantest's capabilities on its earnings call. Per GF Securities, low TSMC SoIC yields have led the industry to cut 2026 CPO shipment forecasts, and Teradyne enters a 2H26 transition: Q2 guidance implies a 6% sequential drop, 55-60% of 2026 revenue falls in the first half, and it trades at 47x 2026 earnings. GF still sees long-term CPO upside, with 2027 CPO revenue possibly $800M. x.com x.com
Teradyne is a high-quality AI infrastructure name with significant long-term upside, as a surge in free cash flow has left it debt-free and tracking toward about $600 million a year. The price target remains $435 by mid-2027. The latest earnings were not flawless: limited visibility and potential lumpiness in the second half of 2026 create substantial uncertainty that will overhang the stock. x.com
Advantest beat because it simply grew at its own historical upcycle pace, which Wall Street underestimated. Revenue came in at ¥367B versus ¥336B consensus and a ¥360B forecast; analysts modeled just 2.3% sequential growth, while Advantest's median in an upcycle is closer to 10%. Earlier reports from Teradyne, TSMC and Disco had already signaled HBM4 pulling tester demand forward; Teradyne memory-test revenue below $170M or an AI mix under 65% would have broken that chain. x.com
Palantir's forward P/E is still really high, better than Tesla's but high enough that missing guidance for even one quarter would get the stock punished. A miss does not look likely this quarter, and Palantir is a great company, but in the current environment the valuation leaves the outlook unclear. x.com
Teradyne is trying to push off its 200 EMA and support zone after a stellar Q2. Adjusted EPS was $2.47 versus $2.09 expected and sales $1.329B versus $1.223B, and it raised Q3 EPS and sales guidance. x.com
Semiconductors look to be topping and should resolve lower into September, as the market prices in slowing capex in 2027. Strong earnings beats look in the rearview mirror; if Q2 was near peak, big beats are expected, and record backlogs are typical at peak demand and can be cut fast once spending slows. The semiconductor ETF has completed its upside correction and is losing steam, with new lows likely by September, which would weigh on a Nasdaq expected to slip toward its 200-day average. x.com … Show more

Teradyne is a multiyear compounder as both the cobot layer of factory automation and the test layer for AI chips. Its Universal Robots unit makes collaborative robots that let factories retrofit a line in a weekend instead of a year, and it is the spine of half the factory floors automating in 2026. Its semiconductor test gear is what every AI chip passes through, its own or Advantest's. Forward EPS of $9.51 at 35x anchors fair value at $333, near the current $337.88; the 320s would be a buy. … Show more
Teradyne shows leadership character in two of the hottest themes, semiconductor testing and robotics: it has posted back-to-back strong earnings and every dip to its 50-day moving average gets bought. It also leads industrial automation through Universal Robots and MiR, helping factories automate repetitive, high-precision, labor-heavy tasks. x.com
