ASE Technology's packaging tightness now extends beyond AI to analog and mature-node chips, supporting price hikes. Lead times are up over 30%; FC/Wirebond/QFN hikes of 10–80% and CoWoS hikes of 10–20% are expected in 3Q–4Q26. Higher AMD server CPU wafer allocation, CoWoS adoption for Venice, Verano and future AMD CPUs, and limited competition support LEAP growth. FormFactor is expensive against its earnings, trading at about 38x when chip-equipment makers usually get 18x. Fair value sits at $60.06 to $76.44, or 18x next year's $3.79 EPS give or take 12%, so at $145.97 the price is about 91% above fair. The valuation also leans on the forecast, with forward EPS 177% above trailing. This is a levels-only read off reported earnings and revenue estimates, with no fundamental work. x.com 

Aehr Test Systems stands to benefit as testing takes a larger share of expanding semiconductor capex. Teradyne CEO Greg Smith says test's share of semiconductor capex rose from 6.4% in 2025 to 8.1% in the first eight months of 2026, with conditions favorable for prolonged ATE growth. Data-center reliability is pushing testing upstream from systems toward packages and wafers, where Aehr dominates wafer-level burn-in. Aehr lacks a dedicated CPU segment. x.com 

FormFactor and Aehr Test Systems are favored because testing is the one non-optional part of the AI buildout. A single bad die ruins the whole package, so pricier chips mean more testing. FormFactor's probe cards touch every wafer; Q2 set records above a $1B run rate with gross margin over 50%, HBM4 is two-thirds of DRAM revenue and a new GPU program ships this half. The model, cited via Citi and apparently management's own, targets $1.6B revenue, 55% gross margin and $5 EPS. Semiconductor trade faces a capex growth ceiling even if AI delivers what bulls expect. Spending cannot compound at 70-100% a year indefinitely, and compute per dollar roughly doubles every two years, so the same budget buys more capacity later.
