Rising 1.6T switching demand favors optical suppliers, though their execution risks vary. Bank of America says the market could grow ~101% annually through 2030. As GPU clusters scale to hundreds of thousands of chips, moving data between them at the speed compute requires becomes the constraint. Lightwave Logic has moved from lab to industrial production: its modulator platform is in GlobalFoundries' silicon photonics PDK, Tower signed a development deal for mass-production integration, and its Polymer PDK 1.1 lets customers design chips on standard foundry lines. Its Perkinamine polymer switches ultra-fast at a fraction of the voltage, easing silicon's power and heat limits at 1.6T+.
