Marvell's ambitious long-range outlook is encouraging about hyperscaler and AI-lab spending plans, but hitting it depends on AI revenue and token consumption soaring through decade's end. Even if its FY28 estimates rise again, Marvell trades at a healthy premium to Nvidia and Broadcom, especially on a GAAP basis, and those two are growing fast too. x.comÂ
Debt-funded AI building is making tech stocks vulnerable to a 25-30% pullback as rates and energy prices rise. AI company borrowing reached $466B this year versus $101B a year earlier; weekly default-insurance trading on seven AI names rose from under $2B in July to over $9B in September. Keep cash for lower prices, though 30% earnings growth and a 19x market multiple argue this is not an AI bubble. x.comÂ
Usage-driven AI stocks are less exposed to frontier-model companies as the AI trade separates winners from losers. All rose, all will fall, and only some will recover; favor usage-driven over frontier-biased stocks. DigitalOcean is GAAP profitable; its token usage is a nonlinear revenue proxy. SiTime is GAAP profitable; robotics, defense and self-driving are each growing 50% year over year. CrowdStrike and Rubrik also do not rely on frontier models, though valuation is a concern. x.com x.comÂ
Accenture and Wolters Kluwer benefit massively from cheaper AI tokens and margin gains as they deploy AI. Their knowledge costs rank among the highest relative to COGS, but regulatory capture, reputation and sticky customers keep revenue broadly intact. Neither shows clear signs of slowing growth; Accenture guided to high-single-digit revenue growth from 2029. Despite enormous terminal-value compression, an unwinding AI-infrastructure trade could bring a sizeable rerating if fundamentals hold. … Show more
AI-biotech leaders are priced at a fraction of what the market pays for chip makers, which defies logic. Bruker holds the No. 1 or 2 spot in most of its portfolio and faces far less long-term competition than a typical 30x-sales chip name, yet trades at 3x sales. Marvell added nearly $100 billion overnight, while Twist, Schrodinger, Bruker and Recursion together are worth under $20 billion. AI gains must become real-world value, and these companies lead much of the AI-bio pipeline. x.com x.comÂ
Marvell, ServiceNow, Intel, Vertiv and Micron sit in the AI bottleneck, making them long-term investments. x.comÂ
AI semiconductor stocks are falling because valuations priced in too much growth beyond 2026-27, not because fundamentals are worsening. With the sector ETF up more than 100% year to date at one point, Q2 earnings couldn't meet those expectations, and a crowded trade is deleveraging as everyone races for the same exit. Fundamentals are likely improving, so as positioning and valuation reset the trade can continue, but selectively. x.comÂ
Long-dated call options on Meta, Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon have gotten so cheap that their risk-reward is 3:1 or 4:1, and they hedge a long AI capex position. Rising AI capex helps semis, neoclouds and memory, and is probably good for these giants long term, but the market hates it short term. In a capex cut, these calls would pay off while the AI capex trade implodes, so a 30/70 split between them and AI capex longs covers many scenarios. x.com x.comÂ
Super Micro Computer looks undervalued, with fair value around $48 to $50, making it a good risk-reward play on AI infrastructure. After a 15% jump in a day it is less interesting, and the risk is too high to pay full value; a sharp sell-off would be the time to build a position. Across tech hardware there is little value now, and most names would need to drop 50% or more to reach a realistic value. x.com x.comÂ
The Nasdaq 100 already effectively prices in a severe semiconductor recession. QQQ trades at about 20 times 2027 EPS versus a 10-year average forward P/E near 25; halving 2027 estimates for Nvidia, Broadcom, AMD, Micron, Lam Research and Applied Materials would lift that only to 24.5. If the market instead traded at 20 times in that scenario, downside would be about 20%. Capex seems unlikely to be cut materially unless growth at AI labs such as Anthropic decelerates dramatically. x.comÂ
