Yield curve control would be the new QE, forcing the Fed to create money on demand, which makes Bitcoin and gold attractive hedges. Under YCC the Fed buys unlimited Treasuries to cap yields, paying with newly created reserves, unlike QE's preset amounts. @SimplyBitcoin notes the US cannot refinance $12-15 trillion of debt at 5%, and James Lavish says money printing is coming whatever it is called. x.com x.com
China's physical buying near $4,000 and a Fed lagging inflation support gold despite rising rates. Per Bloomberg, the Shanghai Gold Exchange's Au99.99 contract traded roughly 430 tons last week, its busiest week since April; buyers pay in full and take delivery. Gold historically does very well when rates rise while the Fed is behind the curve, as it is now. Warsh is no Volcker, and heavy US debt would constrain him even if he were. x.com x.com x.com
Rising Treasury yields make non-yielding gold less attractive, setting up one major selloff before the next big rally. Oil above $100 adds inflation and rate pressure; higher yields could lift the dollar, while gold ETF outflows and forced selling in a liquidity crisis add risk. The Benner Cycle flags 2026 as a potential selling period. The long-term bull market is not necessarily over: central banks are still buying and long-term demand remains strong. Gold is not worth chasing at these levels. … Show more
Gold is set to take off as energy-driven stagflation traps the Fed and negative real rates favor it. Today's dovish hold was likely its last chance to hike: once the AI bubble bursts, the Fed loses that option, while current debt-to-GDP rules out Volcker-style hikes without fiscal insolvency. Per Macrotrends' chart, gold rose eightfold from its 1976 low to its 1980 high, equivalent to $32,000 gold over five years in today's terms. x.com x.com x.com
Bitcoin's near-term macro backdrop is not yet favorable because the Fed balance sheet is stuck at $6.75 trillion, so patience is warranted. The Fed will eventually have to step in for debt markets. ETF inflows leave time for October to turn positive, while Bitwise raised its 2036 target to $1.6 million and says institutions may allocate 1% to 5% as adoption and debasement-hedge demand rise. A U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve may start buying very soon once crypto rules are settled. x.com x.com … Show more
Gold has formed a multi-year top at $5.6K and won't return there before 2030. It is in a high-timeframe distribution phase, with trillions of dollars rotating out of gold into US equities, bitcoin and Chinese equities, fueling the next risk-on environment. Silver showed a classic blow-off top, and the same applies to gold. x.com
Gold and bitcoin should benefit from debasement as the US government, now the least credible it has ever been, faces higher borrowing costs that make its growing debt harder to finance, leading to money printing and more inflation. Bonds' risk-free status is eroding as the 10-year signals rising inflation and Fed hikes fail to slow a hot economy or fix an energy supply shock. x.com
Bitcoin's fixed supply offers protection as UK debt forces sterling debasement. With debt above £3 trillion, a roughly £350 billion annual deficit and a 5.77% 30-year gilt yield, a war scare could serve as cover for printing. A sudden UK monetary reset could wipe out 80% of purchasing power, though this could be wrong. Bitcoin is a 5-10 year hold, not a promise of returns in 6-24 months; if governments keep printing, its long-term price should rise against their currencies. x.com x.com
Gold is under pressure because a sharply higher US 10-year yield, now 5.22%, makes holding a zero-yield asset expensive in opportunity cost. Gold fell 3% and silver 5% in a day after two weeks of rising yields. Gold has also moved inversely to bitcoin over the past week, a sign speculative flows are favoring crypto over real assets. x.com
Gold and bitcoin remain long-term buys, and a single shared chart is the key one for long-term buyers of both to focus on. x.com
