CoreWeave looks like a poor long because its debt now exceeds its market capitalization. x.com 

CoreWeave's debt burden made its IPO dead on arrival, and the burden is even worse now. Debt threatens the equity case. x.com 

CoreWeave's stock may already reflect much of its real financing risk amid extreme pessimism. Its unsecured bonds yield distressed rates and CDS spreads have surged, while Q2 net interest expense was $640M and 2026 capex guidance is $35–39B. Q2 revenue was $2.58B with about $104B of backlog, but whether that demand yields shareholder value after financing, depreciation and reinvestment remains uncertain; attractive financing is central to the case. x.com 

CoreWeave's growing revenue and large backlog have not translated into positive fundamentals. Its trailing free cash flow has fallen to -$13.65 billion, net income to -$1.93 billion and EPS to -$3.66; the stock may still work out, but the uncertainty warrants caution. x.com 

CoreWeave's debt-funded GPUs make financing costs central to its business, while credit markets now price severe distress. Its five-year CDS reached 1,194 basis points on October 15 and remained near 1,145 last week, implying roughly 60% default odds over five years. If yields fall after the FOMC yet shares cannot hold $50, the balance sheet deserves more scrutiny than the macro backdrop. x.com 

CoreWeave could face a liquidity squeeze if customer prepayments funded parent needs or unrelated data centers while their own projects still need financing. Most of its >$7B in deferred revenue likely reflects prepayments. If credit tightens significantly, it could fail to complete projects, triggering delays or cancellations, refund demands and a cascading crisis. CoreWeave's reliance on continued financing to deliver large AI orders is drawing greater credit-risk concern. Rising bond yields signal those concerns and could weigh on future growth and shareholder returns as the market reassesses the model. x.com 

CoreWeave's $35B in debt against $5B in equity and three customers providing 72% of sales leave it financially vulnerable. Its CDS at 1,047 bps implies a 58% chance of default within five years; Lehman's was about 700 bps the Friday before it filed, though Lehman was seen as much more systemic. Jensen Huang may understand CoreWeave better than anyone, but rescuing it could require buying the remaining 87% of its equity and assuming about $40B in debt. x.com  x.com  x.com  x.com 

CoreWeave's team and those at the table have thought through a structure with enormous precision that is forgiving in many situations. Their money-making record makes betting against the team unattractive, despite earlier skepticism about valuation and the need to go public. A feed full of bears and a falling stock do not change that assessment. x.com 

CoreWeave could avoid collapse by continually tapping its $30 billion equity cushion for capital, but that would not make it worth owning. It is a 'shitco,' though things are fine for now. x.com  x.com
