MaxLinear targets 20–30% of the 1.6T active electrical cable cycle, where its management estimates Credo has 93–99% share, initially across 1–2 US data centers. MaxLinear also reports 1.6T DSP and TIA design-win commitments, with initial revenue expected in 2027 and a stronger ramp in 2028. That competitive concern is behind Credo's pre-market drop. x.com

Targeted for shipment in 2027, it promises up to 50m reach, 30% less power than comparable AECs, 10x lower weight and 100M hours MTBF. Credo offers exposure to a massively growing AI buildout as a major connectivity supplier to hyperscalers and data centers. AI training and inference need thousands of GPUs to communicate through high-speed, lossless links, which Credo provides via electrical cables, optical solutions and retimers. Per Alpha Scope, it fell 18% despite beating estimates, with revenue up 157%, earnings up 231%, raised guidance, a 0.11 PEG, 21% ROIC and almost no debt. x.com
