Capstone Energy+ is a little-known play on behind-the-meter power, a market expected to grow from $108 billion to $520 billion. Everyone knows Bloom Energy, but few know Capstone, which looks positioned to land a data center deal soon, with accelerating revenue growth, improving margins, positive free cash flow and net income, a healthy balance sheet and an attractive valuation. x.com
Capstone Energy+ is an asymmetric, under-the-radar bet on on-site power for small and mid-sized data centers as demand outpaces the grid. Unlike pricey Bloom Energy it has not re-rated, yet growth is accelerating, margins improving and it is FCF and profit positive. Management called its data center pipeline magnitudes above its usual one; one 10-100 MW deal could re-rate it; with strong execution $100 is reachable. Long-lived parts and maintenance revenue is an underappreciated benefit for many behind-the-meter power firms, some of which have gotten very cheap on 2027-28 estimates. INNIO expects more than $50M a year per GW in services from its 19GW backlog and reserved slots, much of it arriving five and ten years after deployment, atop roughly $30M a year per GW from its 44GW installed base. That revenue could persist long after the data-center capex boom ends. x.com
Behind-the-meter power generation stocks should be rallying, since data-center permitting delays and a backed-up grid push demand toward on-site power. INIO is a prime example: the stock has sold off even though it is a massive behind-the-meter beneficiary with accelerating demand, especially as data centers become more modular and smaller. x.com
2G Energy's growing orders and long service tail support its unusually cheap AI data-center power valuation. Nine-month 2026 orders exceed €880m, more than twice 2025 revenue; backlog runs into 2028 and service contracts last 15-20 years. Management first guided to €750-850m of revenue in 2028 and says units already sold could support over $100m in annual service revenue once running from mid-2027. AI's electricity shortfall creates a massive opportunity for companies solving the power bottleneck. Morgan Stanley estimates a 32 GW US data-center power shortfall by 2028. Constellation Energy and Vistra are nuclear names, Bloom Energy in fuel cells, GE Vernova in power generation and Eaton in grid infrastructure. x.com
Bloom Energy could look cheap if it hits its revenue targets amid exploding demand for on-site power. Revenue is projected at $4.5B in 2026 and $16B by 2029, implying 3.5x 2029 sales at a $56B market cap. Solaris Energy Infrastructure offers the highest upside in the power group, with the highest chance of being wrong. It builds and runs behind-the-meter power at data centers, and existing customers are buying more for longer: three expanded contracts add over $100 million of expected annual EBITDA, including a roughly 660 MW turnkey plant on up to 18 years. Talen Energy owns assets that cannot be cheaply rebuilt, and its growth after 2027 comes from a specific data center contract. Its 10.1 GW across ten eastern-grid plants is anchored by the 2.2 GW Susquehanna nuclear station, whose adjacent data center campus has a ten-year deal with a large cloud customer. Rebuilding would cost $12,300-17,570 per kW and take 84 months, and costs keep rising. The base business peaks in 2027 and falls 27% by 2030, while data center EBITDA grows about 18-fold. … Show more
New Era Energy & Digital is lining up power and permits for a 1.4GW AI campus, Texas Critical Data Centers, on 493 acres in Ector County. It signed a 20-year deal to buy up to 207MW from Vistra's Odessa gas plant, with power expected in Q3 2027, and Vistra gets a 5% non-voting stake in the part it powers. Construction permits are in hand, but the data center business is pre-revenue, making it the highest-risk name on the list. x.com
AI power generation is now all about deployment speed, with a shortfall of about 38 GW through 2028, of which only about 15 GW will be met by the grid, per Morgan Stanley. Bloom Energy looks pricey at about 82x earnings, but a bull case of about $25B of 2030 revenue implies $16.70+ EPS and $668 at 40x. Gas winners include Howmet, GE Vernova, Caterpillar and Baker Hughes. Cheap solar plus batteries deploys in 18-24 months, favoring Nextracker, Shoals, Fluence, Tesla and Albemarle. x.com
FuelCell Energy is an asymmetric setup: sentiment is still mixed, but upside could expand fast if its data-center story gains traction. It recently highlighted a packaged 12.5 MW solution for data centers and manufacturing expansion plans, and is tied to a collaboration targeting up to 450 MW of data-center deployments. Its June 8 Q2 2026 results call is a near-term catalyst. It is not a low-risk bet, but one worth owning here. x.com
