IREN's ugly Q4 GAAP results reflect deliberate write-downs and spending ahead of its AI ramp, not failing contracts. AI cloud revenue of $70.5M overtook bitcoin mining's $66.7M in one quarter, and the $684M net loss was mostly $450.4M of non-cash impairments on decommissioned mining hardware. The thesis is $4B of contracted ARR for sold-out 2026 capacity at $20-25M per MW, backed by prepayments and GPU debt. If Horizon 2-4 commissioning slips, the path from about $1B of ARR to $4B stretches. x.com x.comÂ
A reported multiyear Anthropic cloud deal would be a major positive for IREN by adding contracted compute demand. The Information reports an agreement that has not been publicly disclosed; Anthropic could be the anonymous frontier AI lab customer IREN management previously mentioned. Its value and terms are unknown, and a link to the 50MW of NVIDIA B300 capacity due online at Childress this year is market speculation. x.comÂ
A multiyear Anthropic cloud deal gives IREN a major AI customer it had long awaited, per The Information. The publication reports that Anthropic signed the unannounced agreement as it expands its data-center provider network; the deal's financial value, capacity and deployment timing were not disclosed. x.comÂ
IREN might be exposed to a Microsoft capacity-delivery delay. Microsoft said some third-party GPU-as-a-service contracts have been delayed to the second half of FY27, while RHouse Research asked which neocloud committed to deliver capacity in Q4 2026. The provider is unidentified, but that possibility leaves IREN at risk. x.comÂ
IREN's deal economics, not the Anthropic name alone, will determine whether locked-in demand earns good returns. The reported deal is good news, but its terms remain unknown, and a buyer that large can negotiate hard on price. IREN should do well: it still has more capacity to sell and is expected to charge a premium for it. x.comÂ
IREN's 5.8 GW power pipeline is increasingly valuable because Google is willing to lease third-party compute even at the expense of Cloud margins. Google's expected 8 GW of leased capacity by 2030 could support a major IREN contract, bringing customer prepayments and investment-grade debt backed by Google's creditworthiness to accelerate the remaining pipeline. x.comÂ
IREN's reported Anthropic cloud deal is unlikely to sustain a stock pop because investors look past the brand halo to capex and dilution. Every stock with an Anthropic announcement gave back its gains, and neocloud compute deals do not seem to be driving re-ratings lately, regardless of terms. x.com x.com x.comÂ
IREN's uncommitted future capacity lets it seek bigger customer prepayments if credit tightens. CoreWeave signed many contracts when funding was easier and, per its management, deprioritized prepayments in early 2026, leaving more capex to fund externally. IREN is nearly certain to get the Rubin GPUs Sweetwater needs: it is about a year away and was designed with Nvidia as a flagship Rubin deployment. SW1's use of DSX pods is less clear, though months of joint design tilt the answer toward yes. … Show more
A reportedly signed multi-year Anthropic cloud agreement could take IREN into the $50s sooner than the prior January 2027 expectation. The agreement is unannounced, and the report may be unverified, but the long view remains. x.com x.comÂ
IREN's spending and ongoing financing still weigh on its shares despite a signed Anthropic deal. Its 2027 capex is put at $25-30B and its $6B ATM appears roughly halfway complete. Mirantis has improved fundamentals, but markets likely care more in about six months as revenue approaches and the ATM/capex window passes, as with Nebius after its Meta deal. A risk-off rotation to larger names adds pressure. x.comÂ
IREN holders could see insane upside when Anthropic goes public soon after its reported multiyear cloud deal with IREN. Per The Information, Anthropic signed a cloud deal with IREN; the stock rose over 7% on the partnership report. x.comÂ
