Nebius, Cipher Mining and IREN are picks-and-shovels winners of the AI infrastructure build-out, absorbing capital faster than they can deploy it. Every model needs compute, every cluster needs data centers and every data center needs power. Hyperscalers spent $364 billion on data center buildouts in 2025, with more expected in 2026, and many neoclouds have capacity booked years ahead. Nebius' business model faces pressure once GPU supply and demand normalize, perhaps within five years. It faces enormous supplier power, more competitors and likely rising buyer power, and lenders and equity investors may view it differently once utilization and pricing stop being exceptional. China could flood global markets with low-cost compute, and the market already seems to price a very long AI boom.
