X-Energy is a pre-revenue nuclear startup, essentially a call option on the nuclear theme, and worth watching from the sidelines for now. It raised over $1 billion in its IPO and filed a roughly $1.59 billion shelf, but its Xe-100 small reactors are 5-10 years from construction, so more raises risk ongoing dilution and permitting delays are a major risk. X-Energy's Amazon deal flips the usual SMR model from build first, sell later to sell first, build later: Amazon is investor, customer and demand guarantor. Locked-in demand enables project financing, cuts early risk and eases fundraising, while Amazon secures AI power, net-zero progress and stable prices, likely via 10-20 year PPAs or behind-the-meter supply. Terrestrial Energy is the mispriced Gen IV nuclear play, valued at about $87 million per gigawatt of pipeline versus about $565 million for X-Energy. Its molten salt reactor uses standard LEU below 5% rather than HALEU, easing fuel sourcing, with partners including Westinghouse, Siemens, Texas A&M and Riot Platforms. FuelCell Energy could ride AI data-center power demand with high-temperature fuel cells for clean baseload, scaling 12.5MW FuelCell Blocks for hyperscalers. At about a $650 million market cap, it has $170 million of TTM revenue, Q1 up 61%, a $1.17 billion backlog, $312 million of cash and output ramping to 350MW. Terrestrial Energy is overlooked next to Oklo, NuScale and X-energy and is primed to squeeze. About 8.2 million shares are short against a 28 million tradeable float, roughly 30% short interest, because it is lumped into nuclear baskets and shorted to death. Its enterprise value is only $574 million while it works through DoE SMR milestones like the other major nuclear names. Solaris Energy Infrastructure is a very cheap way to play the US power build-out, now expanding to 3.1GW on booming demand from customers like xAI. Two deals add 900 MW of turbines: 400 MW via the Genco Power acquisition and about 500 MW of turbine delivery slots. The $1.55B cost, about $1.73M per MW, is well above prior purchases, but the company sees clear line of sight to deploy. The NRC issued its first-ever environmental assessment with no significant impact for a commercial reactor at Dow's Seadrift project, targeting a construction permit in Q1 2027. Constellation Energy's baseline is now strong enough to support the equity story without immediate new hyperscaler deals; AI and contracting add upside. New Era Energy & Digital is lining up power and permits for a 1.4GW AI campus, Texas Critical Data Centers, on 493 acres in Ector County. It signed a 20-year deal to buy up to 207MW from Vistra's Odessa gas plant, with power expected in Q3 2027, and Vistra gets a 5% non-voting stake in the part it powers.
