Astera Labs looks relatively expensive because similarly fast-growing AI infrastructure names trade at much lower multiples. Broadcom and Nvidia are at 14x, Credo at 15x and Lumentum at 18x; comparable peers look 50-80% cheaper. Astera is a great company and not necessarily expensive in absolute terms. Astera Labs is being re-rated as investors see it as AI scale-up and scale-out connectivity architecture, not a copper or retimer company. Even an amazing decade, with revenue reaching $20B at 26% annual growth from about $1.9B, a 35% operating margin and a 30x multiple, makes it a roughly $158B company, about 3.6x from $44B, or around 13% a year before dilution. Astera Labs' valuation is too high to buy despite excellent results. Q2 revenue rose 104% to $392.4M on a 73.7% gross margin, and Q3 guidance of $540M-$560M far exceeded the $417M estimate. Hyperscalers hitting interconnect limits will pay up to avoid costly cluster downtime, and the Scorpio X-Series switches are ramping a quarter early. Astera Labs no longer looks expensive after falling 50% from its highs, trading below 35x NTM EBITDA with EBITDA expected to grow at a 60% CAGR for several years. Revenue is growing 105% YoY, with growth expected to accelerate for the next 2-3 quarters as margins expand. The stock is testing key support at its September 2025 highs, just above the 0.618 Fibonacci level and 200-day EMA. It is worth a look if the AI infrastructure buildout continues as planned. x.com 

Credo is the better pick for momentum and potential returns right now, since a smaller market cap gives more torque, even though Astera Labs is fundamentally the better company. Scale-up connectivity will not be a big part of Credo's business until around FY28, so it needs to pivot into optics, while Astera is more agnostic and flexible. x.com 

Astera Labs is a great company but definitely overvalued today. Per @StockSavvyShay, it carries a PEG ratio of about 3.6x, the highest among the semiconductor stocks compared and well inside the danger zone above 2x. x.com 

Astera Labs needs a rerating because full-year 2026 analyst estimates look too low, with its Scorpio switches in full force in the second half. The quarter was big and the revenue guidance beat really big. The newly shipping Scorpio X-Series 320-lane AI fabric switch marks entry into scale-up networking, competing and coordinating with NVIDIA's NVLink in about a $20B opportunity. Astera Labs carries a huge premium for flawless execution against a CXL market that is small near term. Switch-based CXL memory pooling capturing $15-16B in 2026-2028 is low probability: Marvell guides its XConn switch business to only about $100M by fiscal 2028, PCIe included. Pooling software likely stays immature into 2028, per a Samsung white paper, and Nvidia is contesting the warm KV-cache tier.
