The edge is shifting from securing GPUs to squeezing the most tokens per dollar and per watt from each rack, and Nvidia cited Deepgram and SK Telecom's Haein AI Factory as cases where Penguin does this at scale. An SK Telecom $200 million anchor investment and a trilateral joint venture with SK hynix lock in its HBM roadmap, and its Optical Memory Appliance, due late 2026, targets the HBM scaling chokepoint through optical I/O. Penguin Solutions' shift toward neoclouds is a strong margin lever. Four of six new AI infrastructure customers in Q4 were neoclouds, a much bigger market than sovereign AI. Many are finance shops that land compute deals with hyperscalers or labs and hire Penguin to supply, build and run hardware for five years, such as a 36,000-GPU factory backed by a $10B lab commitment. SK Telecom pairs a defensive cash-cow telecom business with a second growth leg as Nvidia's primary Asian AI compute deployment partner. Nvidia announced a partnership with SK Telecom to build gigawatt-scale AI cloud infrastructure in Korea; its first AI factory, due in 2027, will not be full gigawatt scale at launch, but the story holds. Taking SK Broadband fully private gives it control of data center cash flows, while Korea's largest mobile share in mature 5G supplies stable cash. x.com
