Nvidia's Vera server systems will keep Intel out of hyperscaler data centers beyond limited numbers, since Nvidia has the ecosystem locked down and is cheaper than custom server builds. Musk said SpaceX, expecting over 2GW of compute by year-end, will now build exclusively on Nvidia. Intel's best hope is locally run models in the corporate world. x.comÂ
Intel's lack of real AI or foundry plans is showing in weak Q4 guidance. It forecasts $15 billion to $16 billion of revenue versus $17.08 billion consensus and non-GAAP EPS of $0.25 versus $0.44, despite Q3 EPS of $0.52 and revenue of $16.51 billion beating expectations. x.comÂ
Intel's recovery looks fragile because PC softness could persist through at least the first half of 2027. Management's weak Q4 outlook suggests the pressure may outlast one disappointing forecast. x.comÂ
Intel's near-term growth is constrained by a Kiryat Gat factory blast and memory-driven PC weakness. The weak Q4 outlook calls for answers: the blast looks set to cut roughly $300 million of revenue in Q4 and could have a similar impact in Q1, limiting data-center growth. Fab ownership gives Intel pricing power and enterprise demand is strong; external foundry customers would add another tailwind if won. CEO Lip-Bu Tan said Nova Lake will allow Intel to take back share. x.com x.com x.com x.com … Show more
Intel looks priced for too much good news before it has actually delivered on anything. Its CPU story was carrying the share price. x.comÂ
Intel should use its rally to issue equity and repair its balance sheet, but looks too greedy to disrupt the manic price action with a secondary. It carries roughly $18 billion of net debt after buying back the remaining stake in its fab, and its solvency and relevance were in question less than a year ago at a price 85% lower. As with Avis Budget, the rally is a gift to fix the business's viability. x.comÂ
US sovereign AI and defense demand for domestically made compute will bring Intel most, if not all, US semiconductor designers as customers. PC weakness also lets Intel shift wafers to higher-margin server CPUs, but that takes a few quarters; capacity to ship more server CPUs is the limiter. The $240 billion 2030 server CPU market forecast is a stretch case, not the base case, versus roughly $200 billion consensus. x.com x.com x.com x.com x.comÂ
Intel's planned $15 billion share sale forces the market to reprice its returns on capital. It means roughly 3.1-3.5% dilution, with the offering discount and share count still unknown. Proceeds go to broad corporate uses with no named customers or projects, while Intel holds about $29.7B of cash against $48.5B of long-term debt and Foundry loses about $2.09B a quarter. The raise is justified only if it funds real demand at returns above its cost; watch pricing, projects and Foundry cash flow. … Show more
Intel's turnaround is real, but its valuation already assumes a lot goes right while Foundry has much to prove. Revenue grew 25% to $16.1 billion, data center revenue jumped 59%, and the CEO says Intel can meet only about half of CPU demand, with ASPs up 48%. But Foundry lost $2.1 billion on $5.8 billion of revenue, only $293 million of it external, with no high-volume marquee customer. After a roughly 225% run to $120, Intel is worth about $634 billion, already paying for much of the comeback. … Show more
Intel's poor EMIB-T packaging yields threaten its plans for next year. Per a confidential source, yields are very poor, and EMIB-T may now slip into the following year. The 14A PDK 0.9 matters more for the long term. Intel remains a very strong long-term bull case because yields should improve, though setbacks can arise along the way; whether to avoid this near-term risk is a personal judgment. x.com x.com x.com x.com x.com x.comÂ
Intel is overvalued after running up about 5x from $20, with more capex, low operating margins and a run-up driven largely by Trump's promotion rather than fundamentals. TSMC earns over 30% operating margins and is ahead of schedule in Arizona, so Intel has no US fab monopoly. Trump leaves office in two years, and these fabs are unlikely to meaningfully improve on existing 2nm yields. It could still be a great trade. x.com x.com x.com x.com x.comÂ
