It can charge outside AI agents a toll to access its data, volume likely to grow 100x in 12-24 months; it sells its own SRE agent for automated root-cause analysis; and it has become a top security company in a fast-growing AI security market. Q2 beat on every major metric, with revenue up 36% to $1.12 billion and full-year guidance raised to $4.46 billion, yet Q3 guidance implies about 29% growth, new 100K+ ARR customers slowed to 170, and FCF margin fell from 28.7% to 24.9%. The AI story leans on OpenAI as its biggest customer, and the chance OpenAI builds more of its own observability remains an overhang. x.com 

Datadog's 15% drop on slower Q3 guidance looks like a buying opportunity, with the long-term thesis intact. Across the group, every 10 points of extra growth commands roughly 5-7x more EV/sales; Snowflake, MongoDB, ServiceNow, Dynatrace, HubSpot and Salesforce track that trendline reasonably well, while Datadog sits above it. x.com

Datadog was wrongly caught up in the 'AI is killing software' selloff, because it is the tracking and logging tool for AI agents and is moving into security for agentic agents. Datadog's sales force data points to accelerating go-to-market performance despite SaaS fears. In RepVue's Q1 2026 survey, 83% of US account executives were confident in the outlook and 81% saw AI helping the business, with 2% negative. Enterprise quota attainment rose to 32%, estimated sales output grew 15.9% year on year and ACVs rose 9.1%.
