SK hynix's five-year agreements with 14 major customers cover more than half its 2027-28 capacity, giving its memory earnings unusually long visibility. DRAM prices rose 28% and NAND 25% in the quarter, while operating profit reached 62.8 billion against 58.5 billion expected; Q4 DRAM shipments are guided up 25% from Q3. More memory CapEx may yield proportionally fewer bits as HBM consumes more wafer capacity, supporting SK hynix and Samsung's pricing. Both reported double-digit quarterly DRAM and NAND price gains; Samsung targets 60-70% of mid- to long-term capacity under LTAs. SK hynix has the stronger execution record, but Samsung could benefit enormously from conventional memory without winning HBM4. SanDisk CEO David Goeckeler's report of customer signals beyond fiscal 2030 adds storage to the long-duration AI hardware-demand case. He says those signals come through new-business-model partnerships; Micron and SK hynix in memory and Lumentum in photonics were already cited as signs of demand beyond 2030. x.com 

SK hynix's contracted volumes make revenue more dependable than margins. LTAs cover over half of 2027-28 capacity, but not all demand through 2029 is signed, and prices still move within agreed ranges. Big customers' 2027 HBM volume and pricing are settled; HBM4 yields are ahead of plan. Server DDR5 shipments rose over 40% quarter on quarter, though most of the earnings beat came from pricing. Applied Materials gains if hybrid bonding becomes a commodity DRAM requirement, as it is the only widely ownable name on the short wafer-to-wafer bonder list. Per ZDNet Korea via @jukan05, Samsung moved its wafer-to-wafer bonded B1b onto its roadmap as D0a, its first sub-10nm DRAM. HBM is about 22% of DRAM wafer input this year per TrendForce; commodity adoption would address the other 78%. Samsung hasn't confirmed this. JEDEC lifting 20-high HBM to 900 microns would push this out. x.com 

Samsung has the most upside among the three memory makers because it holds memory, foundry and packaging under one roof, letting it shorten development cycles and give customers more options. Its HBM4 collaboration on AMD's MI455X with 432GB of HBM4, plus foundry talks, shows a major AI customer taking it seriously again. Expect strong DRAM, NAND and HBM4 contributions. @JonahLupton notes it trades at 4.4x NTM EPS, and HBM prices rising at least 100% in 2027 may not be in estimates. x.com
