Duolingo is not worth owning because its core product can be replicated by AI, and the market compresses the multiple before revenue falls once a moat is gone. It has 150 million-plus monthly active users with ingrained daily habits and is integrating AI faster than most, making it more defensible than average software, yet it is still down 80% this year. Duolingo probably works long term as a powerful AI wrapper with lots of net cash at a fairly low price, a genius CEO, a long-term CTO and a special brand. Duolingo's accelerating daily user growth shows its durability and suggests fears of AI killing education and translation are overblown. Q2 2026 DAUs grew 23% year over year to 58.7M, up from 21% growth in Q1. x.com 

Duolingo's foundation is in question because gamified education is as ripe for AI disruption as any software niche. The stock is down 83% from its June 2025 peak, with P/E cut from triple digits to about 10x and P/S from 30x to 4x, despite explosive revenue and consistent cash flow. Investors are pricing decelerating guidance and the AI threat, and management's claims to lead in AI are unconvincing. The last major chart support sits near $67, about 25% lower. x.com 

SaaS is alive: AI is not replacing entrenched enterprise platforms such as Palantir, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Shopify, Datadog, Salesforce, Snowflake, AppLovin, MongoDB and Zeta. Switching costs and risks are too high, and no credible CTO will swap ServiceNow for a stitched-together AI replacement. Using AI themselves should expand margins by cutting headcount bloat and lifting revenue through AI features. ServiceNow has 600+ customers with ACV over $5M, up 22%, and rose 23% in a week. x.com 

UiPath, Zeta Global and ServiceNow are discounted because the market treats AI as a pure threat rather than a product accelerator, as it once did with Google, now up 120% this year. They should rerate once investors see that AI makes their products better, faster and more valuable, and that AI still needs real enterprise workflows, data, compliance, automation and execution layers to be useful. x.com
