Litecoin lacks the attention of other crypto assets such as Zcash. It may be a better digital asset to transact with, but it is not a store of value. x.com

Litecoin's dream is dead, despite its respectable standing among older coins. It never achieved Lindy status, and with bitcoin and Zcash already occupying its positioning, it is unclear what catalysts for Litecoin even exist. x.com
Litecoin is not worth owning after a security failure on its own chain. Per @litecoin, a zero-day bug enabled a DoS attack on major mining pools and invalid MWEB transactions that required a 13-block reorg, during which @AlexAuroraDev says attackers double-spent on cross-chain swap protocols. Litecoin creator Charlie Lee himself told people a few months ago to just buy bitcoin instead. x.com x.com
Litecoin's next bull market will come from usage as digital hard cash, not another crypto-native narrative. It is scarce, decentralized, liquid and fast, and as more major companies accept it as payment, people may hold it alongside cash. Once they notice their cash being diluted while scarce Litecoin can preserve purchasing power, demand could change dramatically. Bitcoin remains the ultimate digital store of value. x.com
Zcash's store-of-value narrative is more valued than revenue-linked privacy applications for now. Revenue-generating tokens could outperform once trust is established, but privacy store-of-value tokens remain the preferred narrative today. x.com x.com
Historic debt levels and currency debasement make Bitcoin's role as a store of value more important than ever, countering Jason Calacanis's call to sell it. x.com
Litecoin should probably do well as the economy finally enters an expansionary phase after five years of contraction, which points to a rebirth of crypto. Its chart has made a third touch of the diagonal, and RSI is back in oversold territory, where each macro bottom was found. Nearly 8.5 years without expansion meant a lot of lost opportunity. x.com
Zcash does not deserve the attention it is getting: it is a poor security token that can be controlled and manipulated. x.com
Zcash is a higher-risk store of value because bugs in its proof system have made undetectable counterfeiting possible. Those bugs have been exploited twice, and nobody can verify whether counterfeit ZEC was created. Litecoin's MWEB privacy layer had a validation bug exploited to mint 85,000 counterfeit LTC, showing privacy-focused monetary systems can introduce real security and supply risks. Their privacy can still make them useful for moving funds quickly and privately. x.com
Litecoin has catalysts not yet priced in, and repricing becomes inevitable once ETF flows and LitVM gain visibility. The SEC classifies it as a digital commodity, leaving almost no legal overhang. A Litecoin ETF trades and Grayscale is converting, with about 1 million LTC, 1.2% of supply, accumulated. LitVM's EVM layer-2 testnet is live with mainnet due in 2026, adding DeFi and smart contracts to MWEB privacy. Hashrate is near record highs and about 1.25 million LTC have left exchanges. x.com
Bitcoin and crypto have largely failed to evolve beyond vehicles for speculation after about 15 years, as @kingtutcap argues. Its digital gold role has been inconsistent, since it trades like a risk asset in panics rather than a safe haven, and most coins offer little beyond hopes of selling to someone else at a higher price. Bitcoin also serves largely as a backend for criminals to move money. x.com x.com
