Litecoin is not worth owning after a security failure on its own chain. Per @litecoin, a zero-day bug enabled a DoS attack on major mining pools and invalid MWEB transactions that required a 13-block reorg, during which @AlexAuroraDev says attackers double-spent on cross-chain swap protocols. Litecoin creator Charlie Lee himself told people a few months ago to just buy bitcoin instead. x.com x.com

Litecoin's dream is dead, despite its respectable standing among older coins. It never achieved Lindy status, and with bitcoin and Zcash already occupying its positioning, it is unclear what catalysts for Litecoin even exist. x.com
Litecoin's next bull market will come from usage as digital hard cash, not another crypto-native narrative. It is scarce, decentralized, liquid and fast, and as more major companies accept it as payment, people may hold it alongside cash. Once they notice their cash being diluted while scarce Litecoin can preserve purchasing power, demand could change dramatically. Bitcoin remains the ultimate digital store of value. x.com

Bitcoin risks a mining death spiral if its price does not recover. With 95% of supply mined, mining profits have been in the dumpster for nearly a year and fees are only 5% of the reward, not offsetting the halving. Compounding losses would force miners to stop, even with free power, since staff and maintenance still cost money, and farms could be dumped as in the 2021 crash. Litecoin should probably do well as the economy finally enters an expansionary phase after five years of contraction, which points to a rebirth of crypto. Its chart has made a third touch of the diagonal, and RSI is back in oversold territory, where each macro bottom was found. Nearly 8.5 years without expansion meant a lot of lost opportunity. x.com
Litecoin has catalysts not yet priced in, and repricing becomes inevitable once ETF flows and LitVM gain visibility. The SEC classifies it as a digital commodity, leaving almost no legal overhang. A Litecoin ETF trades and Grayscale is converting, with about 1 million LTC, 1.2% of supply, accumulated.
