H1 AUM hit $4.6B, up 81% year over year, Q2 revenue rose 47%, and syrupUSDG on Robinhood Chain reached $200M of AUM in eight days versus about a year for syrupUSDT. MIP-021 makes buybacks rules-based, at 10% of revenue below $1.5M a month, 20% at $1.5M-$2M and 30% above $2M; July and August bought back about 1.53M SYRUP. Distribution is the bigger catalyst: syrupUSD is spreading across Robinhood, Arc and Solana. More distribution should mean more AUM, revenue and buybacks. Lending tokens fall short of the sector's strong economics because team conduct and uneven holder returns undermine them. Lending capital is sticky and protocols have pricing power, but Aave rugged its DAO and Compound rugged. Morpho signaled no interest in buybacks; Kamino is silent. Tokens that fund buybacks from revenue gained another reason to catch a bid after SEC staff said buybacks alone don't make an otherwise non-security token a security once its protocol is live. Pump.fun's PUMP token has likely bottomed, because its revenue and buybacks are out of line with a price near all-time lows. Pump.fun earns over $1 million a day in fees, has burned about $370 million of bought-back PUMP, roughly 36% of circulating supply, and says it will buy back and burn at 50% of revenue for a year. Hyperliquid is among the crypto projects proving that real revenue used for buybacks and burns drives the best long-term performance. Tokens without revenue, or whose buybacks do not offset emissions and unlocks, are inflationary assets relying on sentiment. Pump.fun's PUMP token still earns about $1.6 million of revenue a day despite talk that it is dead, and that revenue should rise as on-chain activity heats up. Its daily chart shows great market structure forming, and it is back in a buy zone. The biggest issue is the lack of long-term clarity on buybacks, so it deserves a smaller premium; committing to a fixed minimum share, such as 50%, instead of year-to-year changes would make it easier to trust. x.com x.com
