Ambiq Micro is a new IPO leader whose ultra-low-power chips bring AI to wearables, medical devices and billions of connected devices. The $1.7 billion company beat on earnings and revenue, broke out of its IPO base on six times normal volume, and is now forming a tight flag. x.com 

Ambiq Micro is a great name because it owns the higher-margin wearables segment, compared with Nordic Semiconductor's solid position outside wearables. Few are talking about it yet; after it doubles again, larger promoters will likely find it and start pumping it. x.com

Ambarella's turn toward AI chips comes too late, and Nvidia, Qualcomm, AMD and Intel's Mobileye should steamroll it with vertical integration and LLM-style chip design expertise. Once GoPro's main chip supplier, it sat for five years without accomplishing much. It has a history of underperformance and lackluster revenue growth, and co-founder and chief chip designer Leslie Kohn stepped down as part-time CTO. As LLMs commoditize, chip programs will multiply, favoring vendors paid per attempt: CEVA, Aehr Test Systems, inTEST, PDF Solutions and GSI Technology. Stable, cost-driven inference makes hardwired custom chips worth building, and every program pays for IP, yield and test, success or not. CEVA earns per-unit IP royalties, Aehr and inTEST scale with SKU count, PDF Solutions owns cross-fab yield data, and GSI is a risky memory-wall option.
