Rocket Lab's move from small-satellite launches toward the larger Neutron rocket gives its space-infrastructure story room to grow. It could be a monster buy right now; the attached chart shows latest quarterly revenue of $234 million. x.comÂ

Rocket Lab's growing Space Systems business positions it to provide more than launches for the space economy. It generated $189.5M in Q2, 81% of revenue; if its pending Iridium acquisition closes, it would gain a global satellite communications network. At about $51, this is one of the most compelling long-term opportunities in the space sector over 3-5 years, provided it keeps executing. Neutron's launch has slipped to 2027, and execution risks remain. x.com x.com x.comÂ
NASA's plan to buy launches from four or five commercial rockets could bring Rocket Lab a Neutron contract. Per Bloomberg, the bulk purchase would support a $30 billion permanent moon-base program; Peter Beck has hinted at unannounced Neutron contracts coming soon. Rocket Lab will absolutely be on NASA's provider list, though how large its contract might be remains open. x.comÂ
Repeated Neutron delays undermine the premium on Rocket Lab stock when execution keeps slipping. The company does not live or die by Neutron, but 50x sales was unjustified; even at 26x 2027 sales, a legitimate price suggests another 50% decline. x.com x.comÂ
Rocket Lab's bounce has room to run to $65 after buyers returned following shipment of Neutron's second stage to its Virginia launch site. A break above $65 before November 9 results remains the real test. x.comÂ
Rocket Lab is underestimated as a launch company when it is building a broader space infrastructure business, where satellites, components, spacecraft systems and national-security demand could matter as much as launches. It just signed its largest commercial Electron deal by mission count, 20 launches for Synspective from 2028 to 2031, per Wall St Engine, pushing its launch backlog above 100 missions. x.comÂ
Rocket Lab shares look set to grind as Neutron's first flight slips, even though the core business is at its strongest. Q2 revenue hit a record $234.1M, up 62%, and backlog rose 137% to $2.356B. But the Q3 guide cuts GAAP gross margin to 29-31% from 36.1%, below the ~37.6% expected, with adjusted EBITDA losses widening to $17-23M on low-margin satellite programs, Mynaric integration and Neutron spending. A Q1 2027 Neutron debut is now the base case, which will disappoint high expectations. x.comÂ
Rocket Lab's expanding contracted work improves medium- and long-term revenue visibility. Synspective added 20 dedicated Electron launches for 2028-31, bringing its total to 47; backlog reached $2.4 billion after more than $1 billion in Q2 and early-Q3 awards. Space Systems broadens the business beyond launches, while Neutron's medium-lift upside still depends on reaching operational orbit. x.comÂ
Rocket Lab's existing Space Systems business makes Neutron upside optionality rather than the whole investment case. Space Systems supplied $189.5M, about 81% of Q2's record $234M revenue, alongside Electron launches, defense work, satellite manufacturing and components. Delaying Neutron's first launch to 2027 hurts a major catalyst and raises execution questions, but rushing a rocket failure would be costlier. x.comÂ
Rocket Lab's delayed Neutron first flight pushes out a key part of its planned launch capacity. Flight one has moved to 2027, at least 1.5 years later than the previously indicated timing; the lack of clearer guidance is frustrating. The stock could fall 50% if it breaks key support, though that downside is conditional. x.com x.com x.comÂ
Rocket Lab's defense contracts and backlog position it to benefit from national-security spending. Its $2.36B backlog includes over 100 booked launches, with an $816M SDA satellite deal and a $266M Space Force HASTE deal for hypersonic testing. Despite the Neutron delay, its $36B valuation offers one of the space sector's best risk-reward setups: exposure to the same defense and space-infrastructure trend as SpaceX at a fraction of its valuation. Rocket Lab is headed above $100. x.comÂ
