Compute trades in deep contango, while chip stocks price in little of that value; near-term moves are unpredictable. That makes the sector very bullish. Semiconductors face a negative signal from the first call of peak AI capex. Per Wallstengine, Oracle expects its AI data-center spending to peak in FY27-FY28 and decline in FY29. Oracle's FY27-FY28 runs from June 2026 through May 2028. x.com 

Anthropic's customer growth gives AI compute suppliers firmer demand evidence than capacity plans. Its S-1 reports $16.3B in H1 2026 revenue and about 900% net retention as of September 30, the strongest evidence yet of adoption. Over $500B in commitments include a roughly $125B five-year Broadcom equipment lease plus Amazon, Google and Microsoft arrangements; Nvidia GPUs are in its mix. Anthropic's apparently flat August-September ARR growth weakens the frontier-lab demand outlook for Oracle, CoreWeave, IREN and Nebius.
