Karman Holdings, along with Kratos, should be one of the real winners of the space-sector boom. Both have massive space programs and revenues significantly higher than some of the space stocks that have already exploded. x.com
Karman Space & Defense's selloff ignores strong results, and people will get rich off this company in time. Revenue rose 51% year over year, partly through acquisitions, and backlog grew 61%, yet the stock fell 12% after months of decline. Per a quoted earnings summary, legacy segments grew about 25% organically, while adjusted EBITDA margins slipped to 29.6% on lower-margin acquired contracts. x.com
Karman Space & Defense is expensive against its cash earnings. At $33.05 it trades at 34x cash earnings and 21x next year's, while aerospace and defense suppliers usually get 16x. Fair value is $20.73–$26.38, about 16x next year's cash earnings give or take 12%, putting the stock 25% above the high end. The forward read leans on forecasts, sitting 90% above the trailing one. This is a levels-only read off reported earnings and revenue estimates, not fundamental work. x.com
Karman Holdings' selloff looks significantly overdone, with price in the downside target zone on major higher-timeframe support. It builds mission-critical systems for missiles, hypersonics, missile defense, launch vehicles and spacecraft, a fundamentally stronger story than popular retail space names. Q1 2026 revenue grew 51% and adjusted EBITDA 48%, and management raised guidance to about 54% growth for 2026. If support holds, it has a path to triple digits as the theme regains momentum. x.com
Space stocks could regain high-beta flows as SpaceX lockups end and a probable late-November Anthropic IPO threatens AI stocks, much as SpaceX's IPO hurt space names. Hedge funds are overexposed to the Magnificent Seven and underexposed or max short low-quality high beta; falling rates and toppy oil could make the rotation painful for them through 2027. AST SpaceMobile could benefit as intermittent service triggers agreements and Blue Origin possibly returns to the pad in six weeks. x.com x.com
AST SpaceMobile is a Golden Dome beneficiary, though as a much larger company its stock will trade more on executing its main business than on Golden Dome work. Smaller names like LightPath and Optex are preferred for more direct exposure. x.com
Karman Holdings' ownership concern is outdated: control is no longer as concentrated as it was at or after the IPO. x.com
The space trade is where AI was in 2022: a $613 billion economy in 2024 with a multiyear tailwind that most retail investors do not own. Rocket Lab is the only public US rocket company at scale; Iridium offers pole-to-pole satellite coverage and real cash flow; Karman supplies parts to every rocket launched; Planet Labs provides daily satellite imagery and just had its first profitable year; and AST SpaceMobile delivers direct satellite-to-smartphone broadband. x.com
Space and defense stocks such as Rocket Lab, Kratos and AeroVironment warrant skepticism after a big run because the sector doesn't generate profits the way other sectors do. Many of the announced deals are burdens that take a long time to execute. Excitement around Rocket Lab could return before or after its Neutron launch. x.com x.com x.com
Ten listed companies span every layer of a space economy projected to nearly triple to $1.8 trillion by 2035. Rocket Lab has a $2.2B backlog, with Neutron its next catalyst and biggest execution bet. Firefly guides to $420-450M and won Golden Dome work. Iridium is the steady cash-flow name. Redwire, Intuitive Machines, Voyager and Planet Labs carry large backlogs, Satellogic hit positive operating cash flow, and Spire's defense pivot is the catalyst to watch. AST SpaceMobile is FCC-approved. … Show more
