Salesforce has one of the worst price-to-value, usability and ecosystem profiles of any CRM, reason enough alone to short it, judging from years of using it as a core work platform and attending Dreamforce. Its 20% one-day jump is a great day for longtime holders to get out. x.com

Salesforce faces real AI threats: more competition, margin headwinds from compute costs and disruption risk for businesses like Tableau and Service Cloud. Agentforce is showing some momentum, and the stock felt oversold earlier, but it is not attractive at current levels. x.com

Salesforce's poor M&A is literally half the reason its multiple stays low. Slack and Informatica are cited as examples, with Braze raised as a question; AI making Tableau obsolete in a few years would be a separate risk, not itself poor M&A. x.com

Salesforce is a company that cannot win on talent or product, making it one to avoid, though this view has been wrong before. x.com

Salesforce keeps falling despite a $25 billion debt-funded buyback, a sign of how loosely private credit lends. It issued $25 billion of senior notes in March to fund an accelerated buyback at $198.34, yet the stock is near $163 and below its 52-week low, while ServiceNow trades 20% above its own. A Barron's downgrade hinted at what people already knew: Marc Benioff is doing nothing to steer the company through the SaaS sell-off. x.com  x.com

Salesforce at a 52-week low trades like a broken business at about 11x forward earnings, yet it is 95% subscription with 77%-plus gross margins and $72 billion of RPO, up 14%. Marc Benioff has repurchased $27.1 billion, cutting diluted shares 10%, and says AI makes Salesforce stronger and the latest quarter had a record volume of large deals. A roughly 1% Anthropic stake bought for about $330 million is now worth over $8 billion, value the market is giving away free. x.com

Salesforce is a great business, but SaaS names need to reaccelerate in this market and its growth is not enough today. Organic constant-currency growth is about 8–9%, fiscal 2027 free cash flow guidance came in below buy-side expectations, and Agentforce apps grew just 9% year over year, the slowest in years. Private SaaS metrics and Snowflake's latest report make that bar higher. x.com

Salesforce looks vulnerable long term because users hate it and will happily switch to alternatives, while in the AI era users actually liking a product will be a key moat for SaaS stocks. Adobe showed this when users who hated it switched more easily to Figma. Present-day fundamentals look great across these companies, so the threat is still theoretical. x.com

Salesforce's strong free cash flow and healthy balance sheet support its setup as enterprise AI adoption, Agentforce and AI-driven workflow automation advance. Its earnings gap on four times average volume has been followed by a tightening formation. x.com  x.com

Salesforce may look cheap, but buying before a genuine reacceleration in its results is gambling. x.com
