Enphase's US home-solar demand still has not stabilized, delaying its potential home-power recovery to 2027. Q4 revenue guidance of $225-255M is about 20% below the Street at the midpoint, and guided gross margin falls to 40-43% from 45%. Higher electricity costs from AI demand could eventually favor homes generating and storing power; its IQ Battery 5G stores about 50% more energy and costs about 40% less to make. Solar is the cheapest energy source to build right now as its costs keep falling, making First Solar, Array Technologies, Shoals and the solar ETF the solar plays within the energy transition. Elon Musk says solar will eventually supply essentially all the energy humanity harnesses because the giant fusion reactor in the sky is free. x.com 

Enphase is still a business in contraction: Q2's sequential improvement came almost entirely from safe-harbor shipments booked ahead of tax-credit deadlines, not returning end demand. Those deals pull volume forward, and a tariff refund after the Supreme Court voided IEEPA tariffs flattered GAAP results one time. US revenue, the large majority, is still shrinking. Enphase is asking for a re-rate before transforming its business, which fundamentally does not work. It sells rooftop hardware to homeowners who just lost the tax credit, and Q1 revenue fell 20% year on year. Its GaN and custom-ASIC power platform for AI is credible engineering, but volume is not until 2028 and the solid-state transformer has zero named customers. T1 Energy is building toward US solar cell production with its G2 plant in Texas. The $425M first phase is underway, the full $850M project should create about 1,800 jobs, and G2 should be producing solar cells by year-end. Tesla scaling its own solar production with SpaceX is not a competitive worry: it reflects a broader trend toward localized manufacturing and confirms the solar market will be big enough for other players. Battery and solar stocks like T1 Energy, FuelCell Energy, Fluence, Ford, Nextracker and First Solar are a short-term trade on unusual technical strength and large call option flows. Canadian Solar has no thesis without FEOC and 45X compliance, because those rules gate every leg of its business, battery storage included. Storage faces the strictest FEOC thresholds, Canadian Solar makes batteries in China and its anode material is under a US AD/CVD case, so its Kentucky battery plant is a compliance effort, not a hedge. US non-Chinese wafer supply is tiny and committed, with Corning's output going to T1 Energy, Suniva and Heliene; its own would take years and billions. x.com
