Agility Robotics is the first publicly traded pure-play humanoid robotics company, a connection most investors haven't made yet. Figure and 1X are private, and Tesla's Optimus is only one part of a much larger business. Agility's Digit robot is already deployed in warehouses, and the company is backed by Amazon, Nvidia, SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Foxconn. x.comÂ
CCXI, the only public humanoid proxy, won't stay available near $12 a share for long after Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5. The robot carries a 50 lb payload, about 40% more than Digit 4, runs 90 minutes on a 9-minute charge for 20+ productive hours a day, and is built to work safely alongside humans without cages. SEC clearance brings Agility Robotics closer to becoming the preferred publicly traded US humanoid pure play. Its merger registration is effective, and a shareholder vote around November 2 is estimated; the company expects a November close, subject to Churchill XI shareholder approval and customary conditions. Agility Robotics' Digit 5 release widened its lead instead of sending it back to the drawing board. The bipedal shift more fully realizes Digit's pragmatic, work-focused design and opens a larger future market and better AI training. Safety, the true bottleneck for real deployment, is thoroughly integrated, while Figure, a $40B peer, lists only a battery safety standard. US humanoid-robot parts makers look set to be repriced because the US has no listed pure-play humanoid company while China races ahead and Washington moves to restrict foreign robots, as with solar and photonics. China's Unitree listed at $9 billion, 8,000 times oversubscribed. CCXI, the Agility Robotics merger vehicle, has $300M+ booked; Vishay Precision makes force sensing; Ouster makes lidar; Ambarella makes edge vision chips.
