Its liquid-cooling, power, heat-rejection and prefabricated modular systems bring more of the data-center stack under one roof, which could become a meaningful competitive advantage. Vertiv should be a net winner in power content per megawatt as AI racks move to 800V DC. The shift will cannibalize its legacy UPS and AC distribution, but it is building the replacements: centralized rectifiers, 800V busway, DC energy storage and rack-level DC/DC, while cooling remains a big opportunity either way. Nvidia targets 800V DC for MW-scale racks from 2027, though only 15-25% of data centers may adopt it by 2030, mostly as hybrids on an AC backbone, so AC isn't going away. x.com 

Vertiv could be a big thematic loser if data centers move to space, where liquid cooling is not needed. Given the SpaceX IPO and Vertiv's valuation above 45x NTM earnings, its terminal value deserves questioning. x.com 

AI data centers need cooling, electricity and transmission, sustaining the case for Vertiv, GE Vernova and Quanta Services. Vertiv's sales rose 26% in the past year; its systems cool AI chips. Vertiv and Vicor hold the leverage as AI's bottleneck shifts to rack-level power and cooling, whichever custom chip wins. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the bottleneck is no longer just chip availability but rack-level power delivery, thermal management and silicon efficiency, as AWS custom silicon hits a $25 billion run rate.
