Robots will inevitably scale across all kinds of applications, and picks-and-shovels suppliers are the way to invest now. Nvidia, Teradyne and Symbotic are the obvious plays. Less-noticed names cover each robot function: Ouster's lidar as the eyes, Vishay Precision Group's force and torque sensors for touch and balance, Ambarella's edge AI chips as the brain, and Regal Rexnord's motors, actuators and bearings as the muscle. Ambarella ran too hard, its multiple expanding to price in a 3–5 year narrative, while next-twelve-month growth decelerates to 10–15%. Its SoCs pair with DRAM and NAND, so spiking memory costs pressure customers' builds and feed back as an indirect demand headwind. A sharply higher humanoid shipment forecast supports robotics suppliers even as sentiment struggles. JPMorgan now sees 1.8 million units by 2030, about 152% CAGR. Robotics VC hit a record of over $16 billion in a quarter, and Goldman sees the humanoid market growing from under $2 billion to $38 billion by 2035, with the inflection around 2027-28. Ouster is a bet on the robotics S-curve, backed by a balance sheet with no debt and about $220 million of cash. Customers include Komatsu, under a multimillion-dollar deal for lidar across autonomous mining, construction and forestry equipment, John Deere in heavy equipment automation, Motional in autonomous vehicles and Serve Robotics in delivery robots.
