The neocloud sell-off on reports of a Meta cloud business makes no sense, making CoreWeave, Nebius and IREN a dip-buying opportunity and Meta a short for the pullback. Meta has a contract to buy compute from CoreWeave, needs its compute internally, and with neoclouds' backlogs it is unclear how it would suddenly have capacity to steal their business. The suspicion, admittedly a hunch, is that Bloomberg constructed the news to help close its neocloud shorts. x.com x.com x.com x.com x.com x.com … Show more
Meta's cash generation turned negative in Q3, coinciding with the start of its share-price slide. It was Meta's first negative free-cash-flow quarter in more than a decade. A $25 billion share sale priced at $625 this week, and the shares are already below that price. x.com
WhiteFiber has a fresh catalyst that can push momentum into price discovery: the recent IPO just secured $100 million of funding to scale its data centers. Leopold Aschenbrenner's fund also added the name earlier this year. x.com
Alphabet's lighter-than-expected capex is bad for neoclouds including Nebius, IREN and CoreWeave, qualifying their compute-demand case. Reuters reported quarterly capex of $51.355 billion against a $55 billion estimate. The shortfall may signal a capex cut. x.com x.com
Financing announcements point to more accelerator demand, supporting semiconductors. About $200bn in announced Meta, Anthropic/Broadcom and SpaceX/Nvidia financing likely drives $400bn in XPU purchases. Data centers burn cash until lit, then cash flow 20-40% annually; AI spend rising from 0.1% to 0.5-1% of current payroll could balance the buildout if agents replace roles. Sustainable token demand is the bet, but smaller local models are the bigger risk, though not an immediate concern. x.com … Show more
WhiteFiber is tied to AI infrastructure growth through strong demand for high-density data-center capacity. It has a major long-term colocation deal worth about $865 million, and rising institutional ownership shows more institutions building positions. The stock still has room to be discovered. x.com
Financing strain threatens smaller AI-related plays. Elon Musk says debt markets have nearly closed to firms without substantial non-AI-data-center revenue. Neoclouds, energy, HVAC, electronics and builders will be a much smaller field in a year; its 'guppy' plays can be shorted here toward zero. CoreWeave, IREN and Vertiv look troubled, perhaps Nebius; Ouster, Applied Digital, Ultra Clean, Cipher Digital, WhiteFiber, TeraWulf and IPG Photonics too. x.com x.com
Meta looks unattractive because its fines, capital raises and AI capex make the math ugly. The stock could trade back to the $500s, while hyperscalers probably have to make those raises with equity down 15-25%. Muse looks like a fad and average users may not need AI agents, matching LogicalThesis's view. x.com x.com x.com
Nebius's world-class team makes it the neocloud most likely to keep attracting cheap capital amid high rates and AI anxieties, if any can. Its risk/reward looks good here despite today's decline. x.com x.com
Meta building a cloud business to sell excess AI compute signals it is dropping out of the frontier AI race, which is very bearish for Meta alone. Per Wall St Engine, Meta is setting up that business, yet its compute is only equal to three CoreWeaves. x.com x.com
