Broadwind looks cheap, and natural gas turbines should be a multi-year tailwind. Two concerns remain open: the 2024 dip, which calls for a closer look at the financials and the cyclicality of its exposure, and margins that are still low. x.com

Broadwind is priced at 0.6x sales, about $96M, though US heavy-gearing capacity is slow to add, as heat-treat lines and qualified machinists take years. After selling the Abilene tower plant, it is purely a power-generation gearing and fabrication business. Q2 continuing revenue rose 67% to $24.3M, backlog rose 93%, book-to-bill hit 1.5x and net debt is $5M. The risk: trailing revenue of about $140M is still falling and orders are lumpy, so backlog must convert before old wind revenue rolls off. … Show more
Broadwind is turning from a low-margin, lumpy wind tower maker into a precision-components platform for power generation and critical infrastructure, and the Q1 revenue miss masks that pivot. The wind exit completes September 5, 2026. Industrial Solutions backlog hit a record $43.3M on gas turbine demand with 1.6x book-to-bill; Gearing orders rose 66% and backlog 107% to $30.5M. About $300M of NOLs and 1.7x net leverage give room for bolt-on acquisitions into 2027. x.com
Antero, Expand Energy and Comstock sit on a timing gap as AI-driven gas demand arrives in a concentrated burst rather than a smooth ramp. Turbines, not gas, have been scarce: orders surged in 2024-2025 with three-to-five-year lead times, so the first large batch should arrive within about a year, often at behind-the-meter sites near gas fields. Buyers avoiding turbine waits are turning to mass-producible reciprocating engines that also burn gas. Storage, drilling and pipelines have grown slowly. … Show more
2G Energy's growing orders and long service tail support its unusually cheap AI data-center power valuation. Nine-month 2026 orders exceed €880m, more than twice 2025 revenue; backlog runs into 2028 and service contracts last 15-20 years. Management first guided to €750-850m of revenue in 2028 and says units already sold could support over $100m in annual service revenue once running from mid-2027. At about 17x expected 2027 earnings, it looks cheapest in this space and is preferred to INNIO. … Show more
AI power generation is now all about deployment speed, with a shortfall of about 38 GW through 2028, of which only about 15 GW will be met by the grid, per Morgan Stanley. Bloom Energy looks pricey at about 82x earnings, but a bull case of about $25B of 2030 revenue implies $16.70+ EPS and $668 at 40x. Gas winners include Howmet, GE Vernova, Caterpillar and Baker Hughes. Cheap solar plus batteries deploys in 18-24 months, favoring Nextracker, Shoals, Fluence, Tesla and Albemarle. x.com
Solaris Energy Infrastructure is a very cheap way to play the US power build-out, now expanding to 3.1GW on booming demand from customers like xAI. Two deals add 900 MW of turbines: 400 MW via the Genco Power acquisition and about 500 MW of turbine delivery slots. The $1.55B cost, about $1.73M per MW, is well above prior purchases, but the company sees clear line of sight to deploy. Stifel estimates the added 900 MW could lift 2028 EBITDA about $300M above the $760M expected, about $15 a share. … Show more
GE Vernova is not a cyclical gas-turbine maker, as shown by customers paying deposits for delivery slots in 2032. GLJ Research's September 14 sell note set a $470 target on that cyclical thesis; the stock dipped 10%, fully recovered and now trades above $1,000, while the other 37 analysts average over $1,200. Two days after the note, GE Vernova's CEO said it is selling 2032 slots, and cyclicals do not take deposits six years out. x.com
Bloom Energy and T1 Energy are still too richly valued to deliver the profits investors expect, so a roughly 50% selloff likely is not over. Bloom Energy makes natural gas generators, neither high tech nor high-margin manufacturing long term, yet trades at 190 times earnings. T1 Energy remains deeply unprofitable and competes in solar, a business known for ultra-low margins. x.com
GE Vernova is a cyclical gas-turbine manufacturer priced as a secular compounder, the basis for a sell rating. Per @StockWorthyApp, the stock fell 8.62% in a day and 9.43% over a week on concerns about an AI development slowdown. x.com
Fluence's batteries are the only grid bridge shipping now, with gas turbines sold out into 2030 and transformers on 130-week lead times. Investors fixated on the August guidance cut are missing about $850M of data-center business booked through July, including a $300M behind-the-meter order. It trades at 0.6x EV/sales on $2.63B of revenue growing 8%, with net debt of $74M against $339M cash. The SEC investigation and pending Abramov class action could make the discount permanent. x.com
