FuelCell Energy's bull case rests on upside-only valuation logic, with investors anchoring to Bloom Energy until the sky is the limit, a sign of paying too much. FuelCell Energy offers data centers on-site power without waiting on the grid, and Fit Energy's zoning-approved, fuel-cell-powered data center in Newport Township, Pennsylvania, built on its technology, is the whole bull case in one deal. Oppenheimer initiated at Outperform with a $24 target, citing data-center demand outpacing supply, and Craig-Hallum at Buy with $22. Shares broke out of a symmetrical wedge, jumping 14% to $20.65 and reclaiming the 20- and 50-day EMAs; $20 is the trigger. x.com 

FuelCell Energy's challenge is scaling, not demand, and scaling can be lumpy and more cash-heavy than estimated. Fuel cells are well placed, with Bloom accelerating and queued data centers favoring behind-the-meter power, but battery makers struggled to scale despite huge demand. It is unclear whether the recent raise fully funds capacity plans or leaves enough cushion to survive setbacks without more cash, and that margin of safety drives the valuation. x.com

FuelCell Energy may be on the cusp of a 60 MW fuel-cell data-center deal that would be transformative, though the setup is speculative. Fairfax County filings for T5 Data Centers' planned Virginia site include FuelCell's own data-center deck, suggesting it is the presumptive vendor, although none names it. At $3-4K per kW, equipment alone would bring $180-240 million, more than FY2025's $158 million revenue. Signing could take months, and dilution is the biggest risk. x.com 

FuelCell Energy is not the next Bloom Energy. One 10%-plus up day has already reversed, and the CFO's departure is not a good sign. Its large backlog consists of letters of intent rather than signed contracts, and the company cannot deliver on it. x.com 

FuelCell Energy is gaining Wall Street support and data-center business. B. Riley set a new $32 price target, after Canaccord Genuity upgraded it to Buy with a $30 target and Jefferies upgraded it to Buy with a $24 target earlier in June. FuelCell also signed a strategic agreement with Fit Energy for up to 380MW of baseload on-site power for data centers, with an immediate deposit for an initial 30MW starting later this year. x.com
