ServiceNow's seat business is being cannibalized faster than AI deals can replace it. Next-quarter cRPO growth is guided to 18.5%, down from 20.5%, while subscription growth was 24.5% two quarters ago; agentic usage on its platform is up 13x. UiPath offers good risk/reward because its investor day confirmed the narrative of rising AI demand, higher retention and growing opportunity, even without the acceleration the market wanted. That lack of acceleration was already known after earnings. The stock's continued weakness reflects healthy market mechanics rather than a broken thesis, and the aim is to buy the best risk/reward, not the best stocks. x.com 

ServiceNow's slowing contracted-revenue growth suggests agentic AI and growing open-source alternatives may be reducing the need for its products. Q3 operating margin fell to 9.4% from 16.8% a year earlier, net income dropped, and cRPO growth slowed from 25% to 20.5%; Q4 guidance implies 18.5%. x.com 

Microsoft is a bigger near-term competitive threat to UiPath than Claude, a point that gets overlooked. Claude is the best standalone model, but large enterprises often block it over security, compliance and data governance, while Microsoft's Copilot is already embedded in daily tools and getting good enough. Microsoft's agentic tools are not yet on par with UiPath and the two are partners for now, and orchestration may leave room for UiPath if management executes. x.com  x.com 

UiPath's Maestro is starting to show up in deals, though not yet in growth. At the Citi conference, 18 of its top 20 quarterly deals included broader platform and AI features and were 4-6x larger than usual, $1M+ customers grew 21%, and net dollar retention rose to 109%. Maestro aims to orchestrate AI agents, robots, people and apps across whole processes, an edge with regulated enterprises. Outcome-based pricing could expand the opportunity; the September 22 Investor Day is the next test. x.com

Seat-based software is highly vulnerable in the AI era, while usage-based software with strong moats is the winning formula. AI agents can do many human tasks, shrinking seats and revenue at Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Atlassian, HubSpot, Zoom, DocuSign, Asana, monday.com, UiPath and Adobe. Usage-based models that charge for compute, data or outcomes, such as Snowflake, Datadog, Cloudflare, Palantir and CrowdStrike, tend to grow with AI activity. Switching models is slow and may fail. x.com 

UiPath, Zeta Global and ServiceNow are discounted because the market treats AI as a pure threat rather than a product accelerator, as it once did with Google, now up 120% this year. They should rerate once investors see that AI makes their products better, faster and more valuable, and that AI still needs real enterprise workflows, data, compliance, automation and execution layers to be useful. x.com
