NXP Semiconductors is being overlooked at about 23x P/E while investors chase hard-drive makers at 40x. It just delivered a solid quarter and guidance. x.com

Investor, Institutional Asset Management Background
NXP Semiconductors, a leader in analog, automotive and industrial chips, is a core beneficiary of auto electrification, ADAS and edge compute as analog chips tend to lead in the late stages of the semiconductor cycle. Analog chips bridge the physical world and silicon in every EV, robot and power system, and rarely get replaced once designed in. NXP just printed its first power earnings gap in a while on 3x volume out of a clean two-year base, a sign of institutional accumulation. x.com
Ambarella is one of only a couple of Western merchant suppliers of low-power edge AI vision chips and the one selling into robotics today; its lock is software, since CVflow stacks get designed in years before volume and nobody re-qualifies a vision pipeline mid-program. TTM revenue is $405M, up 17% at a 59% gross margin, with $278M of cash against $13M of debt. At 6.2x EV/sales, the NXP talks are the whole story; if NXP walks, it re-rates to a loss-making chip name with a slow robotics ramp. … Show more
Analog and power semiconductor stocks such as ON Semiconductor, Texas Instruments and NXP are pricing far ahead of their fundamentals. Even with price hikes they are not back to 2022 revenue, yet their share prices have risen multifold. The semiconductor supercycle is lifting even these laggards. x.com x.com
Europe's AI and tech names are the ones worth owning through 2030, unlike its boring banks, automakers and pharma. Picks: Nebius as a neocloud; Rolls-Royce for SMRs; Sivers, IQE, Aixtron, Nynomic and Soitec in photonics; BESI, ASML, SUSS MicroTec and LPKF in chip tools; Arm, Infineon and STMicroelectronics in chips; ABB and Schneider Electric in automation and power; Nokia in AI networking; Scottish Mortgage. Spotify is a great company but not a buy until next year amid the SaaS selloff. x.com … Show more
SK hynix had an incredible quarter and printed cash; the reported misses rest on unrealistic expectations. It is one of the highest cash-flow-generating, highest-gross-margin stocks in existence, contrary to @joeputs calling memory dead and the stock garbage headed off a cliff. x.com x.com
Infineon, STMicroelectronics and NXP have little value upside left from humanoid robotics after rallying hard on the AI datacenter theme. Infineon's CEO said humanoids could eventually rival AI datacenters as a revenue opportunity, about 20% of sales, yet Infineon saw insider sales this week. Humanoids may create few real bottlenecks: about 60% of parts come from the existing auto supply chain, most value will likely accrue in China and OEMs will integrate vertically, leaving heavy competition. … Show more
Nvidia delivered everything investors wanted, yet trades at only 13x its 2029 EPS power of $22 after underperforming the semiconductor sector by 50% this year. It derisked gross margins, guided to 70% total revenue growth in 2028 versus 45% expected and gave more transparency on third-party financing. Supply should stay short of demand through 2028. x.com
Western Digital looks cheap against its earnings. It trades at 14x next year's estimated $31.75 a share, below the industry's usual 18x, which implies fair value of about $503-640, so it sits 11% below where fair value starts. It would only look expensive above $793.74. This is a levels-only read, not fundamental work. x.com
Nokia is a long, not a trade: a telecom giant with a fast-growing AI segment. AI & Cloud revenue rose 105% to €446M in Q2, about 9% of the group, and orders tripled to €2.8B, roughly half converting within 12 months. Optical reached 18% of revenue, lifting a sum-of-parts estimate to about $17.20, and buying NXP's Chandler plant for InP adds capacity. Headline results were weak and capacity constrains supply, so pure-play optical names may move faster near term. x.com x.com
