Comcast's Peacock spinout could reveal value because Peacock has grown faster than Netflix to 48 million subscribers, with structurally lower costs. Its $1 billion EBITDA run rate is twice Netflix's at that subscriber count in 2014. A library, theatrical windows, ISP/CDN delivery, ISP customers and Xfinity upsells help. At 7x earnings, valuing Peacock, media and parks like 2014 Netflix leaves roughly $30 billion in RemainCo EBITDA against $51 billion in remaining market cap. x.com  x.com  x.com 

Netflix's more reasonable valuation and efforts to get leaner make the stock tempting here. Its 18 P/E has come back down to earth and its forward valuation no longer trades at an expensive premium; Q3 earnings were solid, it laid off executives and 6% of staff, and it is significantly expanding live sports. Charter's stock-based compensation of a little over half a billion dollars a year is a real cost to shareholders that should come out of free cash flow, since it dilutes their ownership. Netflix faces high costs to keep producing major hits, while live TV is expensive and competitive and viewing habits are changing rapidly. It remains a good business and the stock should eventually find support, but even after its decline it is not appealing at this level. x.com
