Dell is on the beneficiary map for agentic AI, because "agentifying" the enterprise around data forces both a server and an edge reset. If agentic AI works, the enterprise storage stack is underbuilt and the market is not ready for it. PureCycle remains a failed science project rather than a scaling business, with just $4 million of revenue last quarter. Predictions of massive scaling 18 months ago came to nothing, as has been the case since it went public, and talk of McDonald's interest does not change that. x.com  x.com 

Everpure's growth outlook is far stronger than expected. It guided FY28 revenue to $7.0-7.3B, 45% growth and well above the $6.19B consensus. Sandisk's growth is coming entirely from higher prices, not more bits shipped, which makes it hard to sustain. Revenue grew 97% quarter over quarter as almost every hyperscaler raised capex to cover rising prices. Its roughly 80% gross margin is excessive and customers resent it; as long as demand far exceeds supply it can keep both, but supply eventually catches up and margins will erode. Penguin Solutions looks more like memory-cycle strength dressed up as an AI pivot story, and its price has already run ahead of that story. Its legacy AI factory business was concentrated in hyperscaler hardware, and the pivot to enterprise, neocloud and sovereign customers is a rebuild that the numbers do not show yet, with longer sales cycles and delayed bookings. The IP is good, and winning qualifications could change the view, but that needs a real shift first. x.com 

Data storage is the hottest theme because AI requires servers and massive amounts of storage, benefiting Dell, HPE, NetApp and Quantum. Quantum posted its first non-GAAP profit since 2023, with Q1 EPS of $0.18 on $80.8M revenue, above guidance, and ended the quarter debt-free. Its CEO said backlog reached record levels on robust demand for tiered storage as customers face explosive data growth, cost pressures and power constraints. x.com  x.com 

Micron's projections are set so high that even great years may not be enough to meet them. Samsung's Q3 results show the risk: revenue of $145.6B missed the $150.7B estimate, and operating profit of $80.2B missed $81.1B. x.com 

Sandisk, Western Digital and Seagate are priced as if AI's borrowed demand is permanent. Server spending is growing 36.9% in 2026 and data center systems 31.7%, versus 10.8% for total IT, a gap funded by raided budgets, panic orders and record debt; data center debt issuance nearly doubled last year to $182 billion. Since April, P/S rose from 10.5x to 25.5x at Sandisk, 8.6x to 18.7x at Western Digital and 8.5x to 19.7x at Seagate. Stocks bought above 10x sales have historically lost money. x.com 

Astera Labs carries a huge premium for flawless execution against a CXL market that is small near term. Switch-based CXL memory pooling capturing $15-16B in 2026-2028 is low probability: Marvell guides its XConn switch business to only about $100M by fiscal 2028, PCIe included. Pooling software likely stays immature into 2028, per a Samsung white paper, and Nvidia is contesting the warm KV-cache tier. Hardware is squeezing software as enterprises redirect budgets to scarce servers, GPUs and storage, favoring semiconductors over software. IBM's Q2 revenue of $17.2B missed its $17.9B target, and its CEO said clients moved software and IT consulting budgets to secure rising-priced hardware.
