Neoclouds can be an incredible business only if they turn delivered GPUs into revenue on time. Power delays are harder to remedy than commissioning issues; idle GPUs earn nothing while financing costs mount, especially for smaller operators and those reliant on colocation. Soluna still lacks credibility, and Digi Power X looks like the better name. Confidence in Soluna's management remains low, and the company has a collection of small, piecemeal sites, most locked into bitcoin hosting and mining. x.com 

IREN's 5.8 GW power pipeline is increasingly valuable because Google is willing to lease third-party compute even at the expense of Cloud margins. Google's expected 8 GW of leased capacity by 2030 could support a major IREN contract, bringing customer prepayments and investment-grade debt backed by Google's creditworthiness to accelerate the remaining pipeline. x.com 

Soluna is growing fast, locking in cheap green power and building large AI data centers, though heavy build-out means profits are not here yet. Revenue rose 145% to $15.1M against a $22.6M net loss. It bought the 150MW Briscoe wind farm, signed the Kati 2 AI joint venture, has a 6.3GW power pipeline and holds $113M of cash. IREN has repeatedly misled investors on Horizon 1's timing and economics. Announced in February 2025, it was said in August 2025 to be on track for 2025 delivery and in February 2026 to produce revenue in Q2-26, yet Microsoft only accepted delivery in August 2026. Capex guidance of $6–7M per MW became $14–16M per MW as IREN sells stock through its ATM. CoreWeave added 500MW of revenue-generating capacity in Q2-26 alone, versus IREN's 50MW in 18 months. x.com  x.com 

Long-lived parts and maintenance revenue is an underappreciated benefit for many behind-the-meter power firms, some of which have gotten very cheap on 2027-28 estimates. INNIO expects more than $50M a year per GW in services from its 19GW backlog and reserved slots, much of it arriving five and ten years after deployment, atop roughly $30M a year per GW from its 44GW installed base. That revenue could persist long after the data-center capex boom ends. x.com 

Soluna Holdings is an amazing setup as it shifts toward green data centers that monetize stranded or curtailed wind and solar power, mainly for Bitcoin mining today and increasingly for AI and high-performance computing. Q1 2026 revenue rose about 58% year over year to $9.4 million from $5.9 million. x.com  x.com 

IREN's lack of deal announcements is a red flag when gigawatts of power are worth at least twice what they were recently. Per SemiAnalysis, inference revenue can reach $100B per GW per year at 90%+ gross margins, so a roughly $5B power plant pays for itself in about 20 days. x.com 

SemiAnalysis's criticism of IREN reads as a forced hit piece aimed at a popular, attention-grabbing company. Per @SemiAnalysis_, users call IREN's Prince George and Mackenzie sites in British Columbia the industry's worst, citing outages and failures. But those are a couple of older testing sites, while IREN is only now ramping a gigawatt of state-of-the-art deployments, which should be judged in a couple of years. x.com
