Redwire's real gain from NASA's nuclear-powered SR-1 Freedom Mars spacecraft is a chance to become the standard supplier of high-power space power systems. Orbital data centers may take far longer than investors expect, if they happen at all. SpaceX sells compute on Earth and invests in power and cooling there, widening the hype-reality gap. Rocket Lab is the preferred long-term space holding over Redwire because CEO Peter Beck leaves zero concern about fundamental execution. Redwire has a lot of potential but much to prove: its management is unconvincing, with sketchy past tactics and marketing spending that seems out of step with its priorities, so it fits a theme-driven swing trade rather than a long-term hold. x.com 

Rocket Lab's growing Space Systems business positions it to provide more than launches for the space economy. It generated $189.5M in Q2, 81% of revenue; if its pending Iridium acquisition closes, it would gain a global satellite communications network. At about $51, this is one of the most compelling long-term opportunities in the space sector over 3-5 years, provided it keeps executing. Space demand remains strong, but setups are uneven. Commercial and government demand is accelerating, making space strategic for decades. Voyager and Redwire have very strong setups, though a Redwire retest is worth waiting for; Rocket Lab reclaimed its two-year trendline after great earnings but must still confirm. Rocket Lab, Redwire and Viasat now hold optionality on six years of Space Force test-range orders. All three were named among 15 companies on a $981 million Space Systems Command contract through 2032, with no funds obligated at award; they must compete for each order. Days earlier Rocket Lab won $266 million for 12 suborbital launches, its largest launch contract. The two won the $1 billion LRR program, but AeroVironment says it is getting close to 90% of the awards and was blunt on its last call: warfighters are far more satisfied with its systems than with competitors', and when rival products don't perform in the field, future procurement decisions follow. x.com 

Rocket Lab is underestimated as a launch company when it is building a broader space infrastructure business, where satellites, components, spacecraft systems and national-security demand could matter as much as launches.
