FactSet risks having its app usage automated from outside and becoming unmonetizable as AI agents operate it directly. Its MCP integration was a huge advance and a growth driver, worth perhaps a 20% subscription uplift, but OpenAI's computer use worked well on a regular desktop session, if much slower, and simply noted the FactSet subscription to use when needed. The fear is that AI tools destroy incumbent software economics, but multiples already price a catastrophic scenario, whether or not the collapse happens. Seat-based software incumbents have no obvious right to win the AI shift, so buying SaaS on a rebound call is risky. Dan Shipper, on Lenny Rachitsky's podcast, said SaaS stocks will be up majorly in the next couple of years. But paradigm shifts rarely favor incumbents: these companies are slow and bloated, with business models that keep them from fully adopting AI, while rivals are AI-native. Salesforce faces real AI threats: more competition, margin headwinds from compute costs and disruption risk for businesses like Tableau and Service Cloud. Agentforce is showing some momentum, and the stock felt oversold earlier, but it is not attractive at current levels. x.com 

ServiceNow's AI contract growth and improving free cash flow margin make the 18% selloff excessive and its shares a massive discount among leading enterprise AI companies. AI net-new ACV rose 65%; its 2026 AI ACV target rose to $1.7B, up 70% from the start of the year. Adjusted operating margin slipped to 32.5% from 33.5%, but free cash flow margin rose to 20% from 17.5%.
