Ethereum is likely to outperform Bitcoin near the end of the cycle, especially amid euphoria and looser monetary conditions with lower interest rates, but not during the early part of Bitcoin's cycle. x.com

Bitcoin's macro-risk ratios doubled the time spent declining, pointing to one longer cycle rather than two four-year cycles. The July 2026 low came 44 months in, with perhaps another 52 months for the larger cycle to complete; elevated bitcoin dominance, low altcoin dominance and subdued ETH/BTC echo 2016 and 2020. Bitcoin is very likely to exceed $250,000, with a likely 2028 top followed by a multi-year 70%-80%+ bear market. Ether should outperform bitcoin going forward. x.com x.com
Ether should outperform Bitcoin next cycle because of the leveraged overhang in the STRC, Strategy and Bitcoin complex and Bitcoin's quantum concerns. Ether has narrative tailwinds from upcoming upgrades adding quantum resistance and privacy, plus a real, Lindy moat in stablecoin transactions, though it is not actually deflationary. Everything depends on market liquidity, and no massive rallies look imminent. x.com x.com
ETH and SOL will struggle to stage independent narrative-driven rallies because US stocks are siphoning capital, leaving even Bitcoin short of heat and new demand. For a risk-averse investor favoring certainty over high odds, BNB and HYPE are the only higher-certainty choices besides Bitcoin, and both have outperformed it in this bear market. ETH and SOL are not bad assets, and they could get their chance once Bitcoin rises. x.com x.com
Crypto's coming run will be much larger than 2020's because stock-market and gold runs into 2026 exceeded those into 2020. Bitcoin's and Ethereum's runs into 2025 also exceeded those into 2019. Macro-risk ratios across stocks, metals, oil, PMI and crypto again resemble 2016 and 2020, positioning Bitcoin, Ethereum and altcoins for a major bull run. Focus on 2027-28; the one-year median altcoin return against Bitcoin is still -17.5%. x.com x.com x.com x.com x.com
Ether should lead the next leg because the recent decline was a mid-cycle bear, not a full-cycle bear. A full-cycle bear resets the market and is followed by a bitcoin-dominated recovery that takes years; a mid-cycle bear primes the market, with ETH/BTC trending up and altcoin dominance bottoming during the drop. New highs then take months, not years, in an ETH- and altcoin-led run that is already under way, with the bottom forming higher than before. x.com x.com
Ethereum faces further downside as smart money sells into strength during distribution. A move toward $2,070 comes first; a break there puts $1,800 in view, with a possible local bottom near $1,600-$1,700 where liquidity sits. Until that sweep, bounces are for selling; a real reversal comes only afterward. x.com
Quality coins including Ethereum should outperform bitcoin through year-end, since the bottom very well could be in for ETH while bitcoin usually takes longer to capitulate. The current rally is probably a bullish period within an ongoing crypto bear market: perhaps a good run over the coming months and a dump into Q4, but no deeper bottom for quality coins, as the FUD has gotten stupid. Bitcoin's bottom could be in too, but other coins should still outperform. x.com x.com x.com
Ethereum is set to lead this cycle's rally because its ETFs are drawing more buying than Bitcoin's. Ethereum ETFs took in $1.5 billion against $985 million for Bitcoin ETFs. Last cycle Bitcoin had more ETF buying and led the rally. x.com
Ethereum's liquidity is falling further behind Bitcoin's. ETH now has just 35–45% of Bitcoin's liquidity, versus at least 60% in 2025, with median ETH liquidity around $13–14M. x.com
Institutional participation could make the coming altcoin cycle bigger than any before it, including 2017. Ethereum has broken its long-term downtrend against bitcoin and is retesting support, bolstering confidence in that setup. x.com
