Aeva Technologies matters because LiDAR is the eyes of physical AI, letting robots perceive, map and understand the world while semiconductors act as its brains. Aeva is expanding beyond automotive into industrial sensing and smart infrastructure and is backed by Nvidia. It is also a small cap with elevated short interest, and its recent breakout VWAP held during the pullback to the 21-day EMA. x.com 

Aeva is opening a new market as an optical source for co-packaged and near-packaged optics, backed by a hyperscaler program. It signed a joint development agreement with an optical engine player for deployment at a major hyperscaler in H2 2027 and a production ramp in 2028, using its existing high-volume manufacturing and foundry supply chain for external and on-chip light sources. Aeva Technologies, a next-generation sensing play for vehicles, robotics, industrial automation and infrastructure dubbed Ouster 2.0, has an asymmetric technical setup. On the daily chart it broke its downtrend line, shook out weak hands and reclaimed the key 0.5 Fibonacci level. Prior highs near $39 are the next stop; clearing them projects to roughly $57-$69, possibly by summer's end. Weekly price just reclaimed the cloud for the first time since early 2025; last time it ran 700%. x.com 

Ouster and Aeva have each doubled in a year on the story that humanoid robots need LiDAR, but no link in that chain looks able to hold its price once capacity catches up. Omdia puts total humanoid LiDAR demand near 400,000 units by 2030, while Hesai alone is scaling toward 4 million units a year in 2026, and Tesla Optimus and Figure 03 rely on cameras. The two names making real money are Chinese. Ouster's best argument is its Stereolabs hedge if cameras win. x.com  x.com 

Aeva's move into NPO/CPO is highly bullish for Sivers, again at the center of photonics through its CW-DFB lasers. Sivers is regarded as Aeva's laser supplier, and Aeva signed a joint development deal with an optical engine maker for a major hyperscaler, deploying in 2H27 and ramping in 2028. Aeva could triple to about $78 a share by 2029 as its new optical-source business adds to its LiDAR revenue. Management guides to millions of near-packaged optics units for a major hyperscaler, which could mean $300M of revenue by 2029 as volumes ramp in 2028, on top of the roughly $522M analysts expect from perception. Risking combined revenue at 80%, about $657M, a 12x sales multiple like optical peers gives $7.8B, assuming dilution to about 100M shares from SBC, raises and warrants. x.com 

Sivers Semiconductors' LiDAR design win is closer to generating revenue now that its customer has placed initial production orders. Shipments begin in Q4 2026; automotive and industrial programs target 2027 production. Sivers estimates $53M-$138M in lifetime revenue potential, not firm backlog; the initial order value is undisclosed and the program was announced in March. Applied Optoelectronics' heavy share issuance funds a capacity build into demand that exceeds supply, making risk-reward very attractive. It raised about $1.7B through three ATMs this year to expand plants in Houston and China and in-house InP lasers.
