Fittech still looks good despite vertical-integration worries, because it addresses bottlenecks that make sense to outsource. Its known-good-die test and sort for DFB and EEL lasers tackles one key bottleneck, and its FAU assembly automation means machine sales either to companies bringing that work in-house or to companies offering it as a service. x.com 

X-FAB is a good name because 800V demand is booming for its traditional CMOS business, not because of CPO, which is too small and far from taking off. It can shift capacity from unprofitable automotive to profitable cloud-provider work, and its silicon carbide also targets 800V. It is a rare fab with products at about 1.5x book, cheap because past profits were weak; earnings should improve as Chinese foundry costs have doubled. POET Technologies is uninvestable because its management has lost the trust of the big players. In April its CFO leaked information that led to the cancellation of Celestial AI and Marvell contracts. Being early in interposers and packaging does not make it a co-packaged optics winner, as others will catch up.
